Alanna wants to be teacher......
.....and Lucy wants to be a surgeon, although she's still a little confused about the doctor's life. She asked P recently "Where do doctors sleep?" Alanna told me that Lucy didn't realize they lived in houses and everything just like actual people.
Lucy also wants to be a princess or a queen. She's really been on my case in the last few days since she saw a huge Fairy-Tale Castle Doll House in a catalog, whining urgently of how much she wants it, and could I get it for her, please, please, etc., etc. . I'm trying to explain to her that it probably costs as much as a real-life house so we might have to hold-off on it, OK? She's only 4 yrs old. JWU is concerned about this "Daddy I want [insert frivolous unaffordable item here] can I please have [insert frivolous unaffordable item here]..." trendline progressing into teenage-hood.

Cat Kills Mouse
Lavender Rose killed a mouse. She left the corpse in our driveway near the Mazda MPV. We know that it was L. Rose what did it, cuz Carlos has retired from hunting.
Nowadays, the little birdies are practically using his head as a perch, and he doesn't care. Pam has seen him laying at the bottom of the post which has the feeder on it, and the birdies are just flyin' around his head paying him no attention -- and he's paying them no attention.
He's getting old, alright. Seems like every time I come driving home he's sprawled-out on the driveway in a state of partial sleep. I always say to him as I walk toward the door of our house something like "Hard at work as usual, eh Carlos?" He doesn't answer. Pam thinks he won't make it through winter.
Back to the dead mouse: L.R. gets credit, she's earned her catfood, and she gets to stay (for now). I didn't get a photo of the mouse before its burial, but here's an artists conception:

Wife Further Objects to Husband's "Saucy" Tone
...and the somewhat "cavalier attitude" exhibited in last post.

Pamela Objects to Photo
Pamela was not happy with the photo I used in the thrill-packed post concerning Lucy's birthday, as it (the photo) was not current (she has longer hair now). I replied that the photo I used was just one I had quickly found in the "My Pictures" folder -- one that I thought was good enough -- but the intimation was to the effect that I valued personal convenience over the little extra effort it would involve to find a more suitable photo. So I guess I'll update the post with a more current photo -- when (and if) I feel like getting around to it.
